Answer
PoinTech connects to one of your PC's serial ports (COM ports) using a
serial cable. The most common problem with serial port devices is a conflict
because another device was previously installed on a given port. If your
serial port is dedicated to another device, such as a personal data assistant
or writing tablet product, the PoinTech application may not be able to
find PoinTech.
Note - Your COM ports must be correctly configured using
the Device Manager available from the System option in the Windows Control
Panel. If you do not have any conflicting serial port devices, you may
need to change your serial port configuration. Before you change any
settings, be sure the yellow LED light on PoinTech is lit. If the light
is not lit, PoinTech is not receiving any power. Make sure PoinTech
is properly connected before making changes using the Windows Control
Panel.
