3. Using with a Whiteboard (Real-Time Mode)
3.1 How to Connect to the Equipment

Turn off your computer. |
| 2 | Take
out your PoinTech serial cable. It has
two ends that are different. * One end has a single serial connector. * The other end has a serial connector and a PS/2 connector. |
| 3 | Connect the end with the serial connector only to the PoinTech serial port. Connect the end with the PS/2 pass-through connector and serial connector to the corresponding ports on your PC. |
| 4 | If you wish to connect the mouse, connect the mouse to the PS/2 pass-through connector port. |
| 5 | Turn on your PC. |
| Note: You can connect the pass-through connector to the PS/2 keyboard port instead of a PS/2 mouse port. |

Remove the battery cover. |
| 2 | When putting in the batteries, make sure that the both +(plus) and -(minus) sides of the new N-cell batteries face to the right direction. |
| 3 | Put the Stylus battery cover. |
| 4 | Remove the transparent case from the Stylus. |
| 5 | Insert the dry-erase marker that matches the color of the Stylus. Then attach the transparent stylus cover with the batteries. |

| New Board |
Adds a new blank board to your recorded board session, just like adding a new blank page. |

| Tag Board | Adds a Tag Board to the recorded board session. The content of this board is a copy from the previous board. Since you can change the content of the previous board, this board is very handy to play back and refer to the recorded board information. | |
| Print Board | Prints the current board contents to a printer connected to your PC. | |
| Maximize Board | Maximizes the PoinTech application screen displayed on the desktop. Use this feature to see whether your board contents are being recorded properly. | |
| Control Panel Position Setting | First put up the PoinTech control panel sheet included in the package to the board. Then follow the audio instruction to calibrate to enable the calculator feature. |
| Write on the Board |
Use the Stylus you have set in 3-2. What you write on the board will appear on the PC screen. |
| Marker color and thickness | |
| Delete using the eraser | It's easy to erase what you've written: just move the eraser over the board. Choose a wide tip to erase large areas, and a narrow tip to erase small areas. |
| Next board | After you are finished drawing on the board, press New Board. A new board appears, and the previous board is added to the session on the right. |

Board Session |
Displays the thumbnail of the written boards in order in the right window. |
| The display menu palette gives you various approaches to confirm what you have written. |
| The board and the playback controller | ![]() The application Toolbar, current board, and playback controller are displayed. Use the playback controller to review your ink in the order it was written |

| Full-screen display | Display the current board using the full screen. |

| You can save a session of boards as a file (in .ink format). You can also export boards in other file formats. You can send these files to others as email attachments, or share them over a network by placing them on a server. |

| When you save a session in HTML format, the session automatically recorded in the order in which the boards were written is saved. You can use mouse clicks to navigate through the session and view each board. |
