VISION EXPANDS PRODUCT OFFERING, UNVEILS THREE NEW PROJECTORS IN U2
SERIES
New Projectors Increase Brightness, Maintain Aggressive Pricing for
5.6-Pound Line
Beaverton, Ore. - Feb. 11, 2002 - PLUS Vision Corporation of America,
the leader in projector miniaturization technology, announces the
expansion of its product line with the addition of three new, high-lumen
projectors in its 5.6-pound family. The U2- 1150 (1500 lumen XGA)
is the highest lumen projector available from PLUS Vision, and with
an MSRP of $5,995, is a tremendous value. PLUS Vision also introduces
the U2-813 (1300 lumen SVGA) with an MSRP of $2,895 and the U2-X1130
(1300 lumen XGA) at $4,995. All three projectors are based on Texas
Instruments Digital Light Processing and come equipped with
full multimedia capabilities.
PLUS Vision Corp., the new entity resulting from the January 2002
merger of PLUS Corp. of America and Lightware, maintains its commitment
to advancing ultraportable projection technology. With today's announcement,
however, PLUS Vision introduces its initiative to add high lumen machines
to their product line without adding weight.
"Moving forward, PLUS Vision will continue to advance projection
miniaturization, but in order to meet the needs of our new expanded
customer base, we will also direct efforts at increasing brightness
across all our product lines," said S. Mark Hand, vice-president
of sales and marketing for PLUS Vision. "Our new 1500 lumen machine
at 5.6 pounds is not only portable, but it is bright enough for large
conference rooms and classroom presentations."
The U2 Series projectors include a DigitalZoom capability which gives
presenters the ability to enlarge tiny details on the presentation
screen, drawing attention to key messages and making ideas and information
clearer and more impactful. The U2 series also sports manual focus,
manual zoom and digital keystone correction functionality. A 3-in-1
remote manages projector settings, PC mouse commands and includes
a laser pointer.
The U2 Series projectors are compatible with all common video standards
and can connect to virtually any video source, allowing users to effortlessly
switch between PCs, DVDs, digital camcorders and TVs. The new units
are available through the PLUS Vision Dealer network and can be viewed
at www.plus-america.com.
