MARK HAND NAMED PRESIDENT OF LIGHTWARE
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Promoted
To Head Future Growth of Leading Projector Company
BEAVERTON,
OR
January 8, 2001 Lightware Inc., the leader in portable, affordable
projection technology, has promoted S. Mark Hand, senior vice president,
sales and marketing, to president. In his new position, Hand will
set the company's strategic direction, oversee operations, implement
business and marketing plans and lead partner and OEM relations.
Stepping
down is Al Patz, who is leaving the firm to pursue other business
interests after 2 years serving as President for the company.
"I am fortunate to have been a part of two significant portions
of the life of Lightware - from the startup phase through to the
company's recent acquisition by PLUS America," Patz said. "Mark's
experience running other companies and heading up Lightware's sales
and marketing efforts for the past year will be invaluable in building
brand recognition and market share as he takes Lightware through
its next phase of growth."
As senior vice president of sales and marketing, Hand helped establish
Lightware as the leader in portable, affordable projection technology
by addressing the small business, education and government markets
and driving direct sales via the company's Inside Sales Organization,
and E-Commerce based website.
Prior to Lightware, Hand was senior vice president of the EDI division
of QuadraMed Corp., one of the nation's fastest growing healthcare
information technology companies. Before that, he was president
and general manager of Fleming SoftLink Systems Inc, a developer
and integrator of healthcare software solutions.
"Lightware has accomplished a great deal under Al's leadership,"
commented Hand. "With the projector industry dynamically changing,
I am excited to build upon Lightware's solid position in the industry,
making some aggressive moves to increase Lightware's market presence
and create a healthy bottom-line."
Hand also has held management positions at Fleming Associates, Evergreen
International Aviation Inc. and IBM.
Hand holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration
from Portland State University.
